Brazilians from the cities take to the beaches and country side retreats on long weekends. Hotels there make a minimum stay mandatory and expensive. If you do not want the bath in the crowd (which can be fun if you do not mind noise) avoid beach towns and small cosy villages like Tiradentes.

The good side of these weekends is that the cities are tranquil. So we recommend you plan anticyclic to the Brazilian crowds.
